Magical Forest

Gleneagles grades 4,5,6 classes participated in artist-led painting of the stumps on the rocky outcrop in the remnant forest on the school grounds. The project promoted artistic painting and helped students learn painting skills such as how to hold their brush, different types of brish strokes, blending of colours, and using pant to highlight the natural features that would enhance the stumps. The stumps draw attention to and celebrate the stumps as the “jewels of the fores” and to enhance the rocky outcrop where younger students use imaginative play to develop social skills and to learn about their surroundings.
